Luby's - Dallas

So I have been eating at Lubys for many years here in Dallas. Even during the pandemic the location on Midway Rd was open. Today I went and got two dinners. One with CF Steak and one with CF Chicken. They were both very good. The sides were very good aswell. Got two pieces of Lemon Icebox pie and it was just horrible. Not one hint of lemon and it didn?t appear to be made witheagle brand milk either. I have bought whole Lemon Icebox pies at the holidays and they were most reliable and evenspectacular. Just like home made. I will not be purchasing any more pie by the slice or a whole pie. The taste was just not fitto eat. Was most disappointing. Obviously the NEW owners did NOT keep all the recipes. What a shame. Just ruined the ending ofa very good meal.

Who doesn't love Lubys, apparently a lot of people since they are vanishing. Great fish as always, had to take my kids to one of my favorites back in the day.

Online delivery order.. I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken with mashed potatoes an cabbage! Get my order an they sent me a huge old dry piece of chicken breast! Very disappointed! I paid my money with the delivery up charge, To not even receive the correctfood! Smdh So I?m stuck trying to eat an old dried chicken for dinner instead of what I ordered an paid for! I?m sure no onewill reach out to me to rectify or replace my meal that was complete trash an money down the drain!

Could have been better. Key Lime pie was awful, silverware were dirty. Although the price was a little steep for the quality of the food, the food was just OK. But this is not Southern food, idk what its a mixture of!! Don't eat the veggies, as they areovercooked and tasteless. We had to exchange them for rice. The rice was superb!!

This was my first visit and I was impressed! It reminder me of the Piccadilly from home but better. The options and cleanliness were awesome but what made the entire visit right was our waiter, Derrick/Derek. He was phenomenal! He anticipated our needs tothe point where I was honestly shocked! I've been to several boujie restaurants and NONE of them could hold any kind of candleto his kindness, courtesy and high attention to details. We will return. It was a great experience.
