Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónHaven't been here in years, but the return visit was perfect. Arrive before 6 to take advantage of happy hour ... $2 off on a glass of wine, half price for the bottle! There are specials every day, and today's crusted sole with rice was fantastic. Be sure to save some room for the dessert. We had the bread pudding. The place is low key, lots of regulars and locals. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and the background music of famliar music of the 60s and 70s was soft enough that we didn't have to shout across the table.
Poppy's is a great place to good classic comfort food! We really appreciate that they have a very nice outdoor dining set up, even though we chose to eat indoors. The menu was extensive with lots of Classics including beef stroganoff, specialty hamburgers, shrimp scampi, prime rib and beef sandwiches, and lots of healthy salads to choose from. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and our food was served piping hot and very quickly. I give Poppies Restaurant on Colorado Boulevard five stars!
I've been eating here since 1999. I do not have any pictures because when it comes out it smells and looks delicious. I'm going to try and add the pictures next time I go. This time I came specifically for their French fries and ranch dressing. I had a lemonade and the bartender took care of me. Great atmosphere. I had a mask to be cautious but wasn't required. Until next time.
We had a wonderful dinner at Poppies. Everyone had something different and we really enjoyed everything. The prime rib, rib roast and stroganoff were among the favorites. Desserts were very small but tasted delicious. Service seemed a little rushed from what we are guessing was from being short staffed but none the less it will not stop us from coming back here. Loved the “old school” vibe in this place.
Poppies is truly charming! A friend chose it for our lunch, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Our group of four was very satisfied with both the service and the food. I had the Salmon Piccata, and it was excellent—full of flavor and a generous portion. If I find myself in Denver again, I will definitely return.
