Visited with our two girls (2.5 years and 9 months) to lunch in the week. we used the tapas menu for our starters, we had the Mac'n'cheese bits with buffalo dip and the bubby. both excellent, really enjoyed the buffalo dip. we then had the bbq chicken melt and the bark-stiltone cake. the girls had pieces of our plates that are good, as the portions are very generous. amazing cake, amazing chips! the wait staff very friendly and interacted with our girls who was beautiful and I think made the experience more pleasant for them.
This place is not what it used to be. There seems to be a real dis-connect between the quality, quantity and value of some meals. Once a favourite of ours, sadly, the Royal Oak is now going to be one to avoid.
We had booked a nights camping and reserved a table at the pub for dinner. We were absolutely delighted from start to finish. Firstly the staff are so warm and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The pub is cosy and comfortable. For our meal we had the fish tacos to start and for main the Greek sharing board. It was delicious and sampled a few of the local beers to finish off. Already booked another couple of nights away again. This could easily be our new favourite place to go. Would highly recommend
Waiting staff were wonderful, dont know what cheese they use in their toasties but it was awful, and £1.50 for a shot of lime was a tad excessive)
