I was unable to stay at Chalet Inn due to the strong smell of mold in the laundry room, which was also present in our room. The odor made me feel nauseous every time I entered the laundry room. I was informed that the previous Canadian owners had given up on the property due to its age, and it had been taken over by new owners from Toronto. I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt until my wife discovered bedbugs in our room. Perhaps they overlooked me because I am hairy and enjoy beer? The owner, who is supposedly a lawyer, should take responsibility for the condition of this establishment. I would advise against staying here if you do not want to be bothered.
We visit Chalet Inn annually. They serve a delicious breakfast that is budget-friendly. The servers are always friendly and attentive.
The food here was mediocre. Service was okay, but not the best. For a little restaurant that barely had people there when we were there, the food lasted longer than it should have been. The burger was bland and the bacon was...old, it even tasted really old. The pommes were good at home cut pommes not the frozen way. I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was a last option to eat.
It's not pretentious or brilliantly decorated but I highly recommend the humble cafe/restaurant at The Chalet Inn Motel and Restaurant on the Trans Canada Highway in Dryden Ontario. Their food is tasty, generous portion sizes and family fare, and their breakfasts are excellent. If you...want fancy decor go elsewhere but for solid tasty well prepared food and fast friendly service I do recommend a stop here.
