Really friendly with decent ale and good home cooked food. You can also sit outside on the deck. Only down side is that parking can be a little tricky but that aside it’s well worth a visit. Unusual menu item is black pudding goujons served with local honey…delicious!
Have eaten here a few times, the real ale is always very well kept and served, and there is a good selection of dishes to choose from. Nothing too exotic on the menu when we were there, but if you're after a burger lasagne chicken enchiladas etc, they're all very tasty and good sized portions. It's child and dog friendly too. There's a large restaurant area at the back, but as we had the dog with us we ate in the bar area tbh, this was actually a bit more atmospheric, and we had a good chat with the owner (David) and very friendly serving staff. All in all highly recommended for an couple of quick pints or an evening meal, will definitely be back.
Brilliant meal, beautifully cooked. Went there last evening on the recommendation of a lady from Durham. Certainly lived up to the praise.
