Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI was treated to lunch for my Birthday and it was great. I had the lemon gnocchi......really delicious.
We chose this restaurant for our wedding anniversay because we had heard positive comments over the last year about the food. To start, the restaurant is dirty (had to brush off the chairs from crumbs when we arrived before 6 p.m. on a Saturday). We sat by the window and the ledge is very dirty. Service was sub-par. When we arrived they acknowledged we were celebrating our anniversary but that was it. We had cocktails, wine with dinner, starters (calamari and portobello caps), the mains were Rocket pizza and Lemon Ricotta gnocchi. They say it's delicious and affordable but I disagree. The quality of the food was definitely not worth it. Nothing special for our anniversary, not a lit candle for our table or anything - and they were not busy at all. We normally go to Bangkok Spoon down the street for dinner and I regret choosing to try something different. Will not return for regular night out or special occasion.
My wife and I, on returning from Waterdown in order to avoid traffic, detoured via York Rd. into downtown Dundas mention that last year we had used a small restaurant /caterer to send ameal to a local family and she pointed out Il Fiasco as we turned to corner. Around the block and found this delightful spot. She had deep-fried Zucchini blossoms and Buttermilk wings while I had leek/potato soup and Creole Basa. We topped it off with a glass of wine and finished with homemade Salted Camel ice-cream. . It was a very delightful and interesting choice, thanks to the suggestions of our server, Patrick The only slight comment would be that the deep fried items had a bit of excess oil and the soup could have been a bit thicker but this did not spoil our experience and we will be back for more interesting selections..
I've been there several times, the crab cakes remain good, but don't get them on the sliders as the bread is crisp and you can't bite into them they just squoosh out.Fish was good once, other time was way overcooked - and that visit even the crab cakes had come out frozen in the middle.Tried the pasta twice, and it was so overcooked both times that it was like porridge. This place is really a total write-off.
As visitors from England, we went to Il Fiasco with friends who live locally. From our arrival, I can say that we cannot fault this restaurant in any way. The service was second to none and the food was very delicious (especially the Jambalaya - HOT!) We would highly recommend Il Fiasco to anyone who is in this area. Top marks!
