Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónMy sister surprised me with an unexpected visit on Monday, so we were looking for a cozy spot to have lunch. Unfortunately, my favorite Italian restaurant in Rushden was closed that afternoon. We noticed Mrs. B's Sandwich Emporium and decided to have a light meal there. Aside from sandwiches, the only other option on the menu was a ploughman's lunch, which sounded appealing. However, when it arrived, we were disappointed by the small portions - a few pickles, a tiny serving of coleslaw, a slightly larger portion of salad, a piece of brie, a small baguette, and a square of butter. It was quite expensive for what we received and I don't plan on returning for a meal. The coffee, on the other hand, was good and reasonably priced.
I had some time to spare, so I decided to give Mrs. Bs a try. When I arrived, the coffee shop was already quite busy. Despite not being very large, the shop was well laid out. The building used to be a department store and has now been divided into smaller shops that connect with each other. Our server was very friendly. I inquired about gluten-free sandwich options, but unfortunately, they only had a slice of carrot cake available. The cake was delicious and moist. My husband had a toasted tea cake and a latte, while I had tea. The bill was reasonable. There is a car park located at the back of the building. Overall, the place seems to be popular with others, but I would have preferred more gluten-free options, such as sandwiches.
Try Mrs B's in Newton Hall on the high street, great for a sit down coffee in a bright light venue, friendly service
My favourite is chicken and bacon baguette with all fillings (except sweet corn)...so Deeeeeeelicious. Home made cakes look great too most of the staff are very good.. Will visit again soon...give The cafe a try at Newton Hall its worth it. Only complaint is some...things are over priced.
A great place to pop in to enjoy homemade cakes, sandwiches, panini, jacket potatoes and a lovely cup of tea or coffee. The service is always friendly and the food is always delicious! Generous portions and all served on an eclectic mix of teacups and...plates and teapots. Really light environment but with a homely feel. Highly recommended.
