Hunky Dory - Epping

I'm not a fan of the chips, but the potato cakes and lentil burger are absolutely delicious. The lentil burger is a great deal at $12.50 and is made with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, the lentil burger is no longer available. However, the chips have improved in quality and taste. The slaw salad is disappointing and overpriced for just shredded cabbage. I would not recommend the plant-based spring roll as the filling consists of canned peas, corn, and carrot. (Updated from previous review on 2023-07-14)

Not sure about 2 previous reviews regarding customer service at Hunky Dory, but I’ve been served by the same person and have had a lovely experience and the food was amazing. Staff has always been kind and friendly, and quick to accomodate to my needs (if I’ve wanted to move a table etc.

The food tasted good and the staff were lovely but the owner absolutely ruined the experience for us. We were enjoying our food when we heard the man yelling at his wait staff to stop drinking water and rushing them, as someone who has worked as a waitress for a long time this behaviour really upset me and it ruined the experience as we were subject to hearing his hateful words and rude tone. Great place but needs new management as this man is clearly well past his prime to say the least.

Great service. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Meals offered good value. We would recommend this restaurant to everyone.
