Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI've been visiting The Blue Heron since it first opened, and while the beer has always been great, there were some problems with the food for a while. However, ever since Ken took over the restaurant, the food has become fantastic! The pizza, steaks, and pasta offer a delightful change from New Mexican cuisine. They also serve La Chiripada wines. The beer remains just as wonderful as ever. The food is excellent! I highly recommend you come in and enjoy this great combination to support our local businesses!
Ken's Cuisine is simply amazing. If you're looking for authentic homemade Italian food, this is the place to go. Everything is perfection. They also serve delicious beer on tap. The entire staff is incredibly friendly. Honestly, you need to check it out. We tried the eggplant parmesan and lasagna, and they were the best I’ve had in years.
We tried a few beer flights and most of the options I sampled were quite good, though a few just didn't appeal to me. I haven't been to the location in Dixon, so it might have a better ambiance, but here in Espanola, we sat outside and were interrupted by cars revving their engines on the street. They weren't just passing by; it seemed like they were trying to show off. Unfortunately, we weren't impressed. I'm not sure if this is a usual experience or if we just happened to catch a noisy day. On a positive note, our server was very friendly.
I didn't care for this at all. For one, the establishment seems to attract a seedier kind of person. I actually padded my back pocket to ensure my wallet was still there. The atmosphere of the place felt old and stale. Though, I imagine the patio wouldhave been different. Didn't care for the beers. In fact, of the places I've been to in New Mexico, I would put Blue Heron in thebottom 3 worst for beers. The only highpoint, their root beer is spot on. It was delicious.
Loved to taste my flight of 5 beers, excellent food including Calamari, portabello mushroom filled Ravioli, Lasagna, Aubergines parmesan, Pasta Primavera, deserts for dying. Upscale furnished with linen tablecloths and roses shaped napkin, service was attentive without being too intrusive. I have to go back to try the pizza beer.
