The chicken was raw, the food wasn’t good. I don’t recommend if you have taste buds. The restaurant was empty except for the bar, I wouldn’t even go if I got the meal for free, I hope i don’t get food poisoning from the raw chicken. The only thing that was good was the service, the employees were nice.
Over-priced food self-service. food was just ok The french fries were soggy and tasted like the fryer oil needs to be changed. If you want to eat outside you have to walk all the way in to the bar to pick up your food in to go bag's. The outside settings under the fir trees is nice but I'm not paying 17 dollars for a sandwich and then walking a quarter mile to get it. If all you are going for is the beer it's probably just fine. Just don't expect anyone to help you get water out of the water cooler or help you find the cups. The service is better at a fastfood restaurant. We wanted to go inside but we were convinced to eat outside buy the the inside server when we got to the beer garden the server seemed put out and seemed upset that we wanted to see the menu.
Great bicycling destination from Portland, only 3 hours by road. Nice place to relax for a tribe of recumbent riders, fantastic food, great beers and a flair for all things country. BIKE/TRIKE WARNING: Watch out for road raging redneck hillbillies on some of the backroads getting here, they like beer, big trucks and saying stupid s as they angrily drive around bicyclers. Ignore them.
Just had a fine fish and chips Mother's Day lunch at Bent Shovel. My wife and I enjoyed our meals and their delicious brews. Thank you Rick and Shelly. We recommend it HIGHLY!And while you're in the area, take a tour of Milo McIver State Park just a mile away.Parking: lots of parking, even for boat trailers
