Danny sets the standard for good roasted chicken in Fairhope (except Mama's house! . Her chicken is consistently fried to perfection.
Delicious, Delecatable, Divine!. Fried chicken is not high on the list of delicacies that my parents integrate into their diet. My parents strive to promote the ideas of "micronutrients" and "fruits and vegetables" in our diet. But after the sign for Danny 's back and forth, every time we for the beach in Mobile, Alabama, my parents finally bent back to find the chain for my sister and I.<br/ <br/ Danny 's, in Alabama at least, is embedded on a main bypass at the edge of Fairhope. A white 2 story building, pretty quiet. The joint inside, at a glance, is not Ruth Chris Steakhouse. The staff behind the counter cough with orders and the smell of chickenwafts throughout the building. We, a family of 4, decided on a mixed meat family dinner of 10 chickens, 6 cookies, and 2 pages (1 pint potatoes and gravy, 1 pint beans). Total price of $23.00 <br/ <br/ The chicken is tender, well cooked, and white like chalk on the inside. The fried outer skin is enough of a layer to supplement taste, but does not exaggerate the protein content. The oils are not overlaid, either I could wash my hands under one minute after 3 different pieces. The cookies have some zing so they are different from KFC or Bojangles. They can be replaced with the mashed potatoes. The beans tasted differently, with undertones of onion and other non-identifiable spices. <br/ <br/ All in all, Danny 's is a tasty purchase at an affordable price (also for a hungry family of four). It fills you without the feeling 'gross', bloated, or on a marine disease like feeling. I know if I ever need a fried contract, Danny would be a top proposal.
Great Food Suggest to Go. Danny's has been around as long as I can remember, which says something in itself.<br/ <br/ As far as the food goes, it has always been, in my experience, the best fried chicken available that momma doesn't make. The staff has always been very respectful and nice, although getting anyone to answer the phone with the same attitude is a rare occurrence.<br/ <br/ It is a little pricey, and the buffet is not really worth it, but if you are looking for some great fried chicken to grab on the way home, then Danny's is well worth the trip.
