Kyoko - Fayetteville

I tried the avocado dish and the castor, and both were tasty. They have a variety of good options on the menu, but I wish there was clearer labeling for the vegan choices.

This restaurant is deserving of a 3 to 3.5-star rating, but I gave it 4 stars to acknowledge the wide variety of options available. I'm a stickler for good sushi, which can be hard to find, especially in Central New York, so I relaxed my expectations a bit. They offer the usual avocado roll and kappa maki, but also feature several creative vegetarian and vegan sushi rolls. We tried the Midori (asparagus, seaweed, mango, avocado), the Cen (fried tofu, avocado, sweet potato), and the Zesty Avocado. For appetizers, we had edamame and hijiki salad, and for entrees, we ordered tofu teriyaki and vegetable tempura. Everything tasted good, though not outstanding, with some dishes leaning towards the bland side. Given their extensive menu, we're eager to return and explore more. Unfortunately, our server wasn't fully knowledgeable about the ingredients regarding vegan options, but she was still helpful. Since we're in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, I'd recommend checking with her on our next visit.
