Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI don't tend to eat in Indian restaurants in Perth too often as I find any I have been too expensive and the portions are usually a bit lacking - they have always tasted good though. However as I hadn't eaten Indian for a while I decided to give it another go and rather than go to any I had been to in the past I thought I'd try local for a change and gave these guys a call. The girl who answered the phone was very helpful and answered my questions about the spicieness of various curries etc, and suggested some she thought I would like. I placed my order but left out the rice as we were having naan and paratha. The food is all freshly made so it's not fast food as such, I think it was about an hour and a half or so before it was delivered - no problem to me at all. When it arrived it was well worth the wait, and they included a large portion of rice and some popadums for no extra charge. The vegetable pakora was lovely, quite spicy though and as much as I enjoyed I personally prefer pakora made with individual vegetables rather than chopped together. We shared a fish bhuna, which was delicious and cooked perfectly with the fish just flaking, and a lentil dal with naan and paratha. The portions were huge and one main is enough for two people, add rice and the obligatory naan bread and you have a very hearty meal. We had half the curry and the dal left over for the next day and the rice wasn't even opened (it's now in the freezer waiting to live another day). The naan and paratha were huge, but we still managed to munch our way through both of them. This really was excellent value, very tasty food and twice the amount and considerably less expensive then many of the other Indian restaurants. After that I don't think it will be as long until I have another Indian meal and will will certainly give them a another go.
Sadly this restaurant has closed. Their onion bhajas were delicious, services was always friendly and food was good value. Don't know why they have closed.
We live close by so it is a convenient location. it is a great location for families with young children as there is a safe outdoor playground next to the reataurant and you can eat at a table outside overlooking the playground. But that is the only good thing about this restaurant. from the sticky floors when we entered, the 9 lights that we not working, the hand made "Do not Open" sign on the door at the rear of the restaurant to the terrible choice of artwork and all those "official' signs stuck to the walls (not to mention the horricfic attempts at mounting their picture frames to the walls ( I am a picture framer so bear with me on this detail). the decore is not welcoming.Basically it is like being served a meal by a group of teenagers. we entered and approached the counter where two people stood. the man asked us if we were esting in, then waved his arm to a table on the other side of (empty except family of 4 at one table) the restaurant and said sit there. a staff member came and put a bowl of poppadams and some sweet sticky sauce on our table with a jug of tap water.we had to ask about the specials and then she brought us a take away leaflet to show us the special deal. we had to ask her to explain what the special deal meant and finally got the message. We have dined at this restaurant before and again found the service very poor and very slow and you get the feeling the staff would rather be doing something else. But the reason I say give this a miss is. the Korma and Butter Chicken dishes are so sweet it is ridiculous. Do not order them unless you enjoy a tonne of sweetness with your lamb, chicken etc.
Great food and fantastic customer service. Great value. Next to playground so can watch your kids play whilst eating. Will definitely be visiting again.
Went to Saffron Curry House for dinner last week with two friends, and it turned out to be a total disappointment in terms of the quality of the food and the service. We had Chicken 65 for entrée, the server was quite reasonable, however the chicken was very salty, and not much other taste to it. For the mains we had Chicken korma, Lamb Vindaloo and Channa Masala, which is a vegetarian dish with chickpeas. The Chicken Korma was so sweet that it didn’t even taste like curry anymore, Korma sauce is supposed to have cashew nuts, but it certainly didn’t taste like it has any cashew. The Lamb Vindaloo was again very salty. The only Ok dish was Channa Masala. We couldn’t finish all and the waiter offered us to put the left-over in the containers, which was then collected by another waitress. We waited and waited and the takeaway wasn’t brought back to our table. So we decided to pay for the bill and collect our takeway at ther counter. When we questioned where the takeway was, firstly the waiter said that the waitress accidentally dropped the tray that was used to collect the left-over dishes. And then another woman, who looked like the owner of the restaurant, came out from the kitchen and said that due to hygiene issue they don’t left their customers to take away the left-over food…which anyone would have guessed that it’s a miscommunications issue they had and that the left-over was chucked away by the second waitress. At the end, the women did not offer a single apology but excuses that how we can’t take away left-over. It was really disappointing that they could have easier offered an apology but instead taught us a lesson how unhygienic it is to take away leftovers from the restaurant. On top of the food quality I couldn’t recommend Saffron Curry House to anyone.
