Let me just start off by saying everything was superb. The service, the ambiance, the drinks, and especially the food. We were seated right away on a Friday Night without a reservation. Mind you we did arrive just prior to 8pm. Our first of drinks were very good, a Lychee Louie, and (forgot the name a cucumber drink. Our appetizer was the Brussel Sprouts, they were very flavorful, delicious. The tuna Awa Roll was amazing, one of the best Sushi Rolls I’ve had. The Nigiri with the truffle oil was very good. Awa is a great place to dine and relax with a few drinks. Like another poster said, be prepared to spend some time (and there. Well worth it!
This place is amazing! The food was delicious favs were the brussel sprouts and the chocolate molten lava cake, but everything else was delicious too. The service was quick and excellent we were accommodated switching tables, and a fan was turned off when we internally discussed it was chilly that day. The views of the water are great and so are the vibes. This is definitely a 5 star place and we'll be back!
The food was great. The place is very nice next to the river. Need better drinks and desserts on their menu.
We were celebrating my boyfriend's 30th and I wanted to take him somewhere nice while on vacation! Unfortunately, our experience at Awa fell short. Ambiance 3.5/5): So their website is a little misleading, especially for someone who is not from the area. This restaurant is located inside an outdoor food hall. Awa is not your conventional restaurant where they offer indoor/outdoor seating. They only offer outdoor seating and the only ambiance they have to offer is a city view. For instance, their bathroom is a porta potty. I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to treat my man to a nice, intimate fine dining establishment. Service 4/5): Service was super slow and I am sure there was only one server present last night. I understand that times are difficult for restaurants right now so I will give them a four star. Our server was kind and went out of his way to create conversation with us, which we appreciated. I did mention under the reservation that it was my boyfriend's birthday but they did no type of gesture to recognize this the owner stated on Yelp that they do complimentary desserts for birthdays). Food 3/5): Average at best. Unfortunately the rice to fish ratio was not it too much rice!! We ordered the Chef's Sushi Selection $95) and sadly the price did not match the quality. We were also disappointed at how basic the rolls were with that price point. As mentioned before, this is not your conventional fine dining restaurant and with that their was no open kitchen. It did make us wonder where and how the food was prepared. Do not recommend for celebrating a special moment!
