Not impressed and will not return. At least the prices were not outrageous but standard of cooking below par. Good beer.
We really enjoyed our Sunday roast. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and well cooked and it was a cosy atmosphere.
Deserves to do well, excellent staff, top notch service worthy of Hawksmoor. Outstanding food, wish I lived nearer.
Stayed in the village for two nights last week and had lunch and an evening meal on Friday at The Fox Inn as we didn't want to travel elsewhere because of heavy rain etc. We both had the fish soup and deserts for lunch, and for dinner I had the cheeseburger and my partner the partridge. The food tasted good, the servers were pleasant and the atmosphere nice. Unfortunately at 4am next morning I had a touch of food poisoning with the usual symptoms, and felt sicky for the rest of Saturday. I can only assume it was either the fish soup or the burger responsible as we had not eaten elsewhere that day. I was sent an automatic email requesting feedback on our dining experience so I sent the feedback as a private message explaining the above and expected some sort of reply but was disappointed that I was not contacted by the Fox Inn at all. I am sad to have to give such a review as the serving staff were so attentive.
The whole experience, from the welcome, to the food was just exceptional. Had my parents visiting and enjoyed a spot of lunch due to them being Father Brown enthusiasts. The ploughmans was spot on and Dad was super happy that they us ham egg and chips on the menu. This place is great, for friends, family, dining or just having a few beers in the garden (great selection of Kay and cask). Service was fantastic, I would highly recommend!
