The food is average to slightly above average. The beer selection is minimal and the cocktails are made fairly weak. The scenery is great, but they seem happy to bank on that alone for bringing people in. Increase the quality of food and drinks, and this place would be packed all the time.
I grew up eating and more for many years, the food was good then.. it has changed now and will eventually be a New Hotel..
Palmwood's last days....who has a memory???? Or pic??? Best place..for the bands and food.. Farewell to a part of Crystal Beach History
Worst service. Stopped in for a drink and appetizers, chicken wings and shrimp cocktail took 45 minutes. Our server turned out to be the manager, who asked if I still wanted the food when I expressed how we had been waiting too long for food and the table next to us got theirs before us and we're seated after us. Unbelievable. They clearly don't care about customer service, I will never be back and neither will my friends. They could have at the very least apologized for the wait. But no apologies just attitude. And the food was not good either. I don't recommend this place at all. Save your money and time.
Best kept secret in the area! Great views of the lake and outdoor patio in the summer. The food is good with local perch and pickerel fish fry that can’t be beat. So if you want to relax by the lake and forget about things give it a try. The Food Truck night has started beside the Palmwood at Crystal Beach Lakefront Park. Every Thursday night. Free parking, free admission and a live band. Lots of food trucks, picnic tables and local vendors. Local micro brewery and local wine sales. Kids and pets welcome. Shuttle bus from Erie Road to he park if parking lot is full.
