Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe came to this restaurant specifically because of being able to sit outside with the beautiful view of Lake Erie on a Sunday evening. Once the 3 of us were seated, it took almost 30 minutes just to get drinks and order our food. Because we weren't in any hurry, we sat and talked and tried not to pay attention to how much time everything was taking. The waitress never came back to the table to refill our drinks during the almost 50 minutes we waited for our dinner until we finally flagged her down and asked her to. We looked around and noticed that we were surrounded by tables, some who had been seated before us, who also STILL did not have their food either. The waitress came back and apologized twice during the last few minutes before our food arrived, and we could see that the length of time we waited for the food seemed to have much more to do with the kitchen than the waitress. When the food did arrive, it was hot and flavorful, but again, the waitress disappeared and never came back to see if we needed anything else. We also had to flag her down to get the check. It is too bad that the kitchen was so slow and the waitress was either too busy with other customers or just not a good waitress because this restaurant served good food at reasonable prices with a beautiful lake view. However based on our service, I would probably not return anytime soon.
What a nice place!! the restaurant is on the beach front very nice view good service good food it is a must when is Crystal beach .
We live locally but hadn't been to the Palmwood since new owners took over and after going last week we won't be back anytime soon! In the past you had to wait for a table on the patio but this wasn't the case last week, it seems the customers have gone somewhere else. The service was good but the food was very mediocre. The prices have increased and the food quality has decreased. The thing going for the Palmwood is the location looking out on Lake Erie but the hard plastic seats are very uncomfortable. I ended up with a numb rear end!
Three of us arrived on motorcycles Sunday July 30th at around 3pm. We sat at the bar, planning on a quick beer or two. The blonde bartender behind the bar refused to acknowledge us in any way, shape or form. She was making a few drinks, putting glasses in the dishwasher, filled a water jug, and apparently was so busy she had time to send three text messages on her iPhone. We were the only patrons seated at the bar. She was standing right in front of us at one time, I could have reached out and touched her, but she kept her eyes lowered and raced away. When it became obvious that we were going to get nothing, we just got up and left. I understand that there are new owners, and maybe the staff has been told to dissuade motorcycle riders from coming in? There were three of us, two males and a female, average age about 50.
I haven't eaten at the Palmwood for a couple years. I understand it was recently taken over by new owners. Food is okay (black bean burger and fries for me). Sevice was okay. Prices seemed fairly expensive. But really, you come to the Palmwood for the view. It was a perfect weather day, the sun dancing on the water was wonderful. Made up for the average food offerings.
