Onion straws are somewhat greasy, but have a good taste. Parmesan dusted potato chips are also very good. Margaritas are very strong!
I had no idea what to expect and I was very impressed. We went at 2:00 and found a table. The atmosphere was fantastic. There was a very, very good band. The friendly bartender informed us that you order everything at the bar and then pick up your food at the window. The menu is HUGE. Good luck limiting your choice. The queen was delicious and the fried chicken sandwich was delicious, I would definitely order it again. The Enchiladas were more like a cake, but were still pleasant.
On a recent trip to Fredericksburg, TX, we ran over Hondo’s on Main. Hondo is named in honor of John Russel (Hondo) Crouch. He was a writer, humorist and self-piant mayor of Luckenbach, TX. He helped to celebrate the sentence: “Everyone is in Luckenbach”.
Nachos was good, but needed Jalapeños. Margarita was excellent, although pricy. Would eat again. Bathroom not so great. Nice napkins.
Fun place. A great place to get a good, honest comfort food meal at a great price in comfortable surroundings. Outdoor seating most comfortable if weather permitting. Patio w/some covered and some under shade trees. Nice. Live music nice and the big ol greasy bacon cheeseburger is as good as a burger gets. Loved the bucket of curly fries. All around pleasant experience. A must do in Fredericksburg. Gotta' try the BBQ too. Falling apart tender and great sauce if you like it a bit sweet. I do. But I'm not a snob. Service non-existent as it's a self-serve set-up but all were nice. A definite stop next time in town.
