We visited this restaurant purely by chance on our way down to Paris. We took our twin boys and some family with us. We were 6 in total and had a lovely lunch. We had the Steak Tatar, Fish of the day and some lovely mousse bouche to name a few dishes and a real treat for dessert too profiteroles with rich white chocolate ice cream, apple creme brule and orange rhum baba. All our dishes were authentic and full of flavour. The hosts were a joy and the manager/owner was very friendly and accomodating. We will come back for sure if we pass by again in future. Merci beaucoup!!!!
We have a meal at l’Ortolan every year we stay near Arras. Our campsite owner recommended this restaurant and made our first booking for us many years ago. Sylvia is an excellent front-of- house and her husband Frank creates and produces the superb meals. We usually have an evening meal, but this year had lunch, which was equally excellent. The restaurant was full, which tells you more about it than I could here. There is an a la carte menu, but we always have one of the fixed menus. The quality, flavour and presentation of the food is always fantastic. I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation to everyone.
Hidden gem between Arras and Douai. For those driving the A1, it's totally worth the small detour. I have never been disappointed by the food or the service. Call ahead for reservations due to limited seating.
