Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónI recently tried takeout from Georgetown Thai, which I haven't visited since they moved to Guelph Street. I was surprised by how expensive it was for takeout, especially considering I usually have leftovers. However, this time we had none. The beef satays were tough and the red curry with shrimp only had one shrimp each. Normally, takeout includes rice with the main dish, but we had to order extra as the portion was small and not enough for two. The hot and sour soup was not spicy and the tofu was unpleasantly firm. I was also surprised to find cucumber in a dish, which was not to my liking. Overall, I was disappointed with the experience and don't plan on returning.
The restaurant continues to receive a high rating for their food. The service is friendly. Prices have increased and portion sizes have decreased. It is common to receive curry dishes with very little chicken or vegetables. The restaurant is always busy for takeout, so they must be making good money. The food is delicious, which is why we continue to return. If a new restaurant opens up that offers good competition, we will give them a try. However, for now, this is still the best Thai restaurant in town.
I used to love this restaurant, but the prices have increased over the years. The cost for a chicken pad thai dish is now too high for me. I was planning on getting takeout but decided to go somewhere else today. Perhaps when the dine-in option reopens, I will give their lunch special a try, as it has been more affordable in the past. This is just my personal opinion, but despite the price increase, I have always appreciated the delicious flavors and good service at this restaurant.
I am a long time Georgetown resident and have loved the Georgetown Thai restaurant for over a decade. But it has relocated and gone downhill. A subtitle name change to the Georgetown Thai “Gourmet” has me wondering if ownership changed. My meal was terrible last...night. The yellow curry chicken was runny and bland. My daughter said the chicken was tough. It had a fraction of the vegetables that were once apart of the meal. My curry puffs had uncooked dough in them. This is a repeated experience with poor food quality. It is disappointing as they used to bring cooks directly from Thailand and had won awards for authentic Thai food I sense that has changed. Serving staff has also changed. Additionally they tell you a pick up time and there is a tremendous wait that they don’t tell you about until after you paid. This never used to happen. I won’t be coming back after years of loving this resturant.
Ate here with the family and we enjoyed it very much. The service was good and prompt and the prices very reasonable. The quality of the food was excellent and the menu very large. I would highly recommend this place.
