The server gave some excellent advice to my 10-year-old daughter in ordering the kids version of the mac and cheese by saying that she has seen grown men not be able to finish the adult version. (The kids portion was much more reasonable, cheaper and still delicious. And although my 14-year-old was disappointed that they were out of the veggie burger, the kitchen was able to pan-fry some salmon (not prepared that way on the menu , which came out great. My wife loved her veggie haggis. All in all, a great lunch! (And nice to hear the bagpipes faintly next door.
Very disappointing and not what I remembered. Ordered meatballs in tomato sauce with rösti potatoes. The meatballs were solid, unseasoned, had not been cooked in the sauce and were lukewarm. The sauce was a tin of chopped tomatoes which had ben warmed and that's it. The rösti potatoes weren't-they were mini potato croquettes. And to top it all off it took 40 minutes to drive and cost £17.
Had a xmas night out in the Piping Centre and had booked room for overnight stay. Positives: comfortable room/ compact and bijou/heating very quick to respond to alterations. Nice staff team, very accommodating. Great breakfast. Not so positive access is limited so if u have mobility issues, this isn't the hotel for you. I get that this is due to the age of the building. I had booked in July so wasn't aware that this was the case. Curtain coming away from lining, finish in the bathroom isn't great maybe some masking tape next time. Not sure I would return based on this visit as rather expensive for one person
Rooms good and food top with interesting choices. Great location for central Glasgow. Highly recommend.
Visited here twice during the past 6 weeks, the last time on Friday 11 August. We went for coffee. We asked where we could sit to have coffee, they said find a seat. We then waited for around 15-20 minutes for someone to take our order, no one came. I went to the bar where 3 members of staff were chatting and asked if I could order. The response from one of the girls was oh you want to order. Coffee came no problem. This was almost the exact same that we had experienced around 6 weeks previous and about a year ago. It’s bizarre! I’m surprised they get any guests. It’s almost as if they want nothing to do with you unless you belong to the faculty in the NOC. Don’t waste your time going.
