The burrito was really good! I would describe he restaurant as a hole in the wall cafe, as in its a smaller restaurant with not a lot of seating.
It's a very popular chain in Sydney (maybe Australia?) now, and that's because - like all popular fast-food places - it's reliable.
I have a confession to make I tried this places YEARS ago when it first opened in 2005ish or thereabouts, and I didn't like it.
I just asked for a burrito bowl with no meat filling and no cheese (vegan). I asked since I’m getting no meat if I can have more beans or rice instead to have the same amount of food. I had ordered this dish just like this from many other branches (World Square, North Sydney, Rhodes, Canberra etc and they were always happy to do it but the cashier laughed and said no sorry we can’t adjust our meals for you we don’t swap ingredients here like it was a fine dining restaurant.I told her I simply want the same amount of food without the meat and she said she will ask her manager. Manager came and I explained my request again and he said no can’t do that. His justification was that the filling are expensive they can’t just give me extra. He clearly didn’t understand what i was saying and wasn’t even polite enough to say oh we can do it for an extra bucks or something. So I obviously left the store refusing to pay full price for half the food. This is ridiculous, as this is inconsistent with their other stores. I don’t recommend this store, staff are arrogant and unhelpful. Would not go back. Also, dear Guzman, meat is more expensive than beans, not the other way around!
Guzman has trouble controlling their franchises but this one had an all-Latin workforce, which is usually a sign of a good branch, and indeed it had good rich flavours and quality ingredients. They brought the authentic service though, quite surly and slow and the store has only a few tables to sit at.
