It’s a very sweet store. Worth a visit if you live nearby. My grandfather was raised 7th Day Adventist and the meat replacements are very recognizable to me from childhood. Mostly canned texturized vegetable protein (wheat gluten). The selection is small and focuses on vegetarian foods (vegans read the labels). You won’t find trendy or new products here. You won’t find health foods. You will find Adventist style vegetarian meat replacements, spice mock ups, some colas and regular bagged chips. If you’re down to explore a traditional Adventist meat replacement this shoppe is really fun. No veggies or produce. Most of the shoppe is Christian books, stationary and calendars.
There is a variety of vegan options available, including shrimp, drumsticks, nutritional yeast, and more.
The health food center is a neat little market with aisles of canned and packaged vegetarian and vegan meat substitutes, broth and seasonings, refrigerated items and a few cookbooks. I bought soy curls, vegan Parmesan cheese, chick’n seasoning and a vegan cookbook. Definitely worth checking out of you’re in Glendale.
This restaurant offers unique items that are not easily found elsewhere. They specialize in faux meats and canned goods. I particularly enjoy using their dried soy protein from the bulk section in stews.
