Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónHonestly, an average night out. Food was okay but it is a dated place with so so service. The theatrics of the Tepanyaki chef is always entertaining but once that's done it seems a little void of any character. I'm not a great fan of Tepanyaki anyway. It's pretty much all meat, some fried rice, a little lettuce salad and miso soup. The company was great which made the night for us.
A last minute choice to dine out tonight. Narrowed down a big list of local restaurants to - Food Yummy? Great Personal Service? Entertainment thrown in for free. One had all the ticks. Shogun Japanese Restaurant. We are long time diners to this Restaurant, never disappointed, feels like Family. Special Events/Memories venue.
I recently came here with my girlfriend and her family. They are regulars here but this was my first time. I was blown away. The place looks fantastic. The authentic Japanese decoration was amazing. The staff were always on hand to help with anything and very polite. The food was outstanding! Everything was cooked to perfection! I had the "natsu" set menu, which included steak, chicken, egg fried rice, miso soup and a salad. Every dish was served promptly after the other. The chef was incredible, performing tricks and making jokes whilst preparing our food infront of us. He kept everyone entertained from start to finish. Throwing knives and tossing food onto peoples plates. A great night had by all.
When on the Gold Coast, Shogun was a favourite for Japanese Teppanyaki at it’s old premises. The new Southport restaurant already seems rundown and the great ambience of the old place is not there. Our evening was enjoyable, however in comparison with other teppanyaki restaurants we have been to, the food was average.
Our al la carte choice tonite was Salmon Negir sushi Chicken skewers ( cant spell Japanese name) rice and mixed tempura vege / prawns. Fast attentive service. Beautiful setting. Lunch parking would have to be at the brickworks. But if you are going for dinner there are nearby stores that you can utilize parking spots. Desert was tempura ice cream and effectively what was pineapple fritters. All food was delish and after this we were chockas. Forgot to take before pix so photos are mid meal. Recommended for small groups or couples or if larger groups try the Teppanyaki meals. Sessions at 6pm an 8pm.
