We had dinner here tonight and it was exquisite food, scenery and service.
A seafood lovers haven this spot is 20min from Moncton on the ocean - worth the drive The lobster stuffed mushroom caps are truly decadent.
Food and atmosphere were as promised. Great view of the sunset. Lobster stew was good. Many deep fried options if that is what you are looking for
Paturel's name as a "Shore House" is a totally apt description. The resturant sits on a small bluff and the large glass windows and patio provide beautiful unobstructed views across the Northumberland Strait. The food will provide you with a real taste of maritime fare according to my local friends. The seafood platter offers clams, scallops wrapped in bacon, fish and shrimp all deep fried with crispy coatings. The seafood casserole is creamy and deliciously decadent. For the more health conscious the caesar chicken provides a grilled chicken breast on top of a generous portion of salad. The wine is reasonably priced although in terms of quality a bottle rather than the house is the way to go As for deserts, your server will bring a plate of what is on offer that day and you will be hard pressed to resist. The atmosphere is casual with cottagers, tourists and locals dropping by. You would feel comfortable in anything from shorts and a t-shirt to more elegant casual wear. But, as others have mentioned, the interior of the resturant is dated and could easily be a set for a 1970's movie....although that's not why you're there...the food and the setting are the stars. If you've over indulged and need some excercise, walk west along the road that the resturant is situated on. There you will find access to a gorgeous stretch of beach to walk along and watch the sunset.
