Grass Roots Grill - Grand Bay-Westfield

We were passing through the area and stayed in Saint John overnight. We read about this place on Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. It was a longer drive than expected, but that was our choice to make. We both ordered fish chips since it was all you can eat on a Friday night. However, the first portion was so generous that we did not need any more. The quality was only so so. Not bad, but not great either. It filled our bellies at a modest price, so no complaints ... but we were not blown away either. The server was kind and attentive but did not know much about the beers. She just gave us a chart to pick from. So ... if you wasn't someplace just to relax and grab a bite, then this will do the job.

We received a gift certificate and thought we would try eating here again. Our past experiences have not been great. So, we arrive and get seated. Not too busy. My wife asked for a burger, no burgers left. Asked for something else (can't remember), don't have that either. This was a Wednesday night....how do you run out of anything?? I asked for a certain beer...didn't have that either. We finally found a few things to have. Got to say that we are not pleased. We were really hoping they improved over our last visit. No improvement! It will take a lot for us to return. Sorry

Absolutely amazing, The Freak Show Burger was so delicious and huge. Couldn't even finish it

You need to try the Boubon burger. Unreal. The bourbon reduced crumbled bacon and caramelized onions combined with garlic aioli and a thick slice of real cheddar melted over the grass fed PEI burger was truly incredible. Was a special feature at the time of the review but I hear they may be making it a regular menu item.

My waitress was excellent and the service was prompt. The food was delicious and the menu has good selection.
