Ukai Toriyama - Hachioji

The real Japanese dining experience. Not inexpensive but considering the food, ambience and service, it's well worth it. Beef, chicken course grilled at the table over charcoal... great dining experience. Hard to get to but they have a shuttle but taxi is also an alternative. Highly recommended.

Ukai Toriyama was SO GOOD. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Japanese dining experience. The atmosphere was amazing, and we were taken to private little houses with a glass wall overlooking a koi pond. They even told us June-August is hotaru season, so the gardens are filled w fireflies at night. Reservations are a must. Other than the food being really good, the service was top-notch. The staff were friendly, informative about the dishes, and super attentive (you will never have to ask for water lol), making sure that every guest is well taken care of and has a memorable experience. As for pricing, we each paid 12.5k yen for the set meal we chose (chicken and beef), but it was 100% worth it for the quality of the food and the overall experience. There 's even a free shuttle service that takes you back to the train station.

Really special dinner spot by Mt Takao! Service is excellent and meals are served in private rooms. We tried the chicken skewer and the chicken and beef sets. A great place to go to “get away” while still being close to Tokyo. Highly recommend!

I thought that the service was great, but this time I chose to be a meeting place in Ukai Tozan. Each dish from appetizer to the main steak was naturally warmed up to the staff. I was convinced that there are many customers in the world.
