Slate's - Hallowell

Very nice staff, tiny cute place, had some live music when we went. Food very good, had some unique options.

*Update* Went back because it was so good.. Fresh food, excellent service and wonderful food make a difference. Small but very well put together restaurant and bar. Food was great and the atmosphere and decor are very nice.

Love getting coffee and a sweet treat in the mornings on my way into work. They even have homemade sandwiches, quiche and some other savory selections. The only draw back is the space. They do a great job getting people in and out with a smile and wonderful service though. You may have to stand outside for a few minutes if there are more than three people in the cafe so bring an umbrella if it's raining but it's worth the few minutes wait.

Very kind, Expedient, Go the extra mile for you, I 'm allergic to a few things.And they pretty much told me everything that was in the Entrée, Thus, making sure that I wasn 't gonna get sick off anything I was allergic to. I have frequented this Gem for at least 35-40 years which is situated on the Benedict Arnold trail on the Kennebec River in beautiful Hallowell, Maine. I urge you to make sure you bring your cameras. Dietary restrictions: As I mentioned in my review of the menu restrictions, the waitress went as far as to tell me everything that was in the chicken country pie ,{which I highly recommend}, that gave me the confidence to eat my meal and not worry about any food conflict repercussions. Parking: There is 2 sides of the street, their own parking lot, a parking lot also on the other side of the street [RIVER SIDE], is a large parking lot right by the Bike,Walking, and Nature Trail. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant and bakery are both on the street level. There 's a ramp for the restaurant, it is well marked and a nice gradual grade. It 's pretty tight in the bakery using a wheelchair but it is very popular.

Food was good, not amazing. Price was top tier. Staff was very attentive but also left space.
