FYI: Chicken Chow Mein come with white rice not NOODLES as one would expect. Chow Mein by definition are stir-fried noodles, but Asian Cafe says they are different . Go figure... I called back twice to confirm that I received the right item....they did offer for me to bring back the rice and they would switch it to noodle..
Ordered on-line via their website; it was intuitive and user-friendly, which I appreciate. First time we ordered, I got the General Tso's Tofu; it was delicious, had a little outer crunchiness to it, but super spicy. So, this time I put a note when ordering that I didn't want the hot pepper/seasoning, and within a few minutes, a woman called me to clarify my request which was very nice of her. The tofu was a little soggier(? this time, but that sauce...so good! My family (meat-eaters and I (vegetarian have also ordered the pork fried dumplings (good , the vegetable steamed dumplings (ok , the egg rolls and spring rolls (typical , the vegetable fried rice (good , and the sweet and sour chicken (good . Because of all of their vegetarian options, this will be my new go-to spot for Asian food, plus the food is good.
A nice debut. Saw this recently opened restaurant from a Val Pak coupon and gave it a try this weekend. In the former Crab Du Jour location, now back to a Chinese restaurant with some Thai dishes too. Had the following: Soups: Wonton Soup: Large wontons, pretty standard Hot and Sour Soup: Tofu, chicken, carrots, mild spice. Pork Steamed Dumplings: Decent size and filling was good Appetizers: Hot Spicy Szechuan Noodle: Lo mein style noodles with diced tofu, minced meat, peas, brown sauce. Their take on dan dan mein. Simple but tasty. Cool Noodles with Peanut Ginger Soya Sauce: Have not sampled it yet, it will be in leftovers for day 2. Entrees: Mapo Tofu: Firm tofu, rich sauce, mild spice. Walnut Shrimp: Large shrimp, plus broccoli and walnuts with sauce on the side. Pad Thai with Shrimp: Very tasty. Parking: In a small lot accessible north or south as Darby Rd splits towards Eagle Rd. Service: Very quick and friendly. Ordering: Online ordering accepted with credit cards. I got a text message to verify my phone number during my order and after my order was placed with an ETA. Return: Yes, we liked what we had so far. Hours: Mon: Closed Tues Thur: 11:30 am 9:30 pm Fri Sat: 11:30 am 10:30 pm Sun: 12 noon 9 pm Delivery: Via Doordash, Grubhub, UberEats (per valpak coupon) pictures coming up.
Big disappointment. Chef's specialties seafood combination very little seafood. Apps and soup same disappointment. Grand opening in Havertown better step up your game. Do not recommend.
