The menu offers a wide variety of options, including BBQ, shabu shabu, and several Korean side and main dishes. The shabu shabu with beef and vegetables was tasty, and the seafood soup with rice was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the generous portion of side dishes, which were readily refilled upon request. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
Is it possible to give 7 stars to this place? The first thing that pops into my mind when thinking about Seoul Ria is 'out of this world. ' Yes, it 's THAT good. Hard to believe I haven 't reviewed this place, but it 's just as hard to believe that I 've been coming here for well over 10 years, and I 'm glad to share that the quality hasn 't dropped one bit over the years. Their bibim bowl is 100% authentic and one of the very best I 've ever had, and they sure know how to handle their katsu because it 's crispy tender perfection. Side dishes are interesting and plentiful, and the service button on each table is an awesome bonus. The ambience is another level here, because it 's usually packed for dinner service with waiting list, and it always adds to the dining experience seeing the staff practically jog between hallways to keep the place running amongst the bustle. I would totally come here every week, except that I 've moved thousands of miles away. I hope they stay open for a long, long time.
Nestled right in the middle of George Street overlooking the hustle and bustle of the streets below. You enter via a lift from the street. The venue its self is quite large and can cater for 100+. The style of Decor is very much Korean through and through. The food options cover all the bases such as soups, rice, noodle, sea food, hot pot dishes. They offer the option for you to cook your own meat if you desire or ready to much right of the plate too. They are generous with the complimentary entrées and are happy to refill as often as you like, so if you likr your kim chi it's all you can eat. I choose a spicy beef and veg noodle soup. Flavouring was really nice and meat was good quality and plentiful. Came with a portion of rice too for some reason but its was a big enough portion without it for me. Service and the food were good so would come back definetly with a group or one or two hungry friends.
This place used to be really good but jacked up prices and messy atmosphere make it hit or miss. Food was great and the portions are huge but it seems to have lost some thing over the years.
It's worth noting that although this Korean restaurant has been in the same corner for a long time, I believe it recently changed ownership. My experience here 3 years ago was not impressive, but it has really improved recently. I must mention that I am a big fan of Madang, the direct competitor located in the same alley. There are two Korean restaurants in a small narrow alley, and Madang is my favorite despite their subpar house wine. However, getting a seat at Madang during peak hours can be a challenge. We ended up at Seoul Ria when Madang was cleaning their grill, and the queues at Madang were too long another time. Both times we were satisfied with our experience at Seoul Ria. They are generous with their side dishes, which I appreciate. The BBQ meat dishes are not as plentiful as Madang's, but still decent. They also have different BBQs that prevent meat from sticking or burning too quickly. I recently had the spicy pork and found the marinade to be a bit overwhelming, but that's just personal preference. The service is good, considering the small size of the venue. We will probably alternate between the two restaurants, but it's nice to have the option of Seoul Ria.
