I loved it yet again. My personal favourite is the beef carpaccio starter. I was so looking forward to it when I made the reservation for the table! I also enjoyed a great pepperoni pizza. Staff were as ever helpful and pleasant. The only thing...we did not like was that it was a Saturday night and the large room at the rear was roasting. The staff had no control over the temperature it would seem and this was the only thing to take away some of the enjoyment. The bill was €90 for four of us which included a bottle of wine. What I would say is that wines in this restaurant are particularly expensive, even when they are the basic house type.
The abundance of dithyrambic online reviews lead us to expect a fine evening at this reasonably-priced Italian. Unfortunately, this was not to be. The drinks came out a little late, but the real problem was that food service was so slow it was abnormal. I...basically waited close to an hour and a half (after ordering time for one spaghetti dish. This taken into account that we had reserved in advance, we were the first to arrive at the restaurant at the opening time, our dishes were only simple pizza and pasta mains (no oven dishes, risotto... , and the dishes at our table were served with large intervals, so it had nothing to do with waiting to serve it all at once. The restaurant was not near full capacity, either. We had to remind the staff about our order several times, without being offered an apology or a small compensation as is usual in such cases, but when we eventually did get the food I was (sadly far from impressed. Although portion size was fine, the pasta was just a bit too hard (even though I like al dente , the sauce was passable but did not taste great, same for the seafood. I have had considerably better seafood pasta elsewhere (incl. Germany with similar price range , and could not finish my plate despite being quite hungry. I guess the staff were trying their best (waiters were running around actively ? Perhaps something went wrong in the kitchen and this is not usual, but I am sorry to say my experience is the food is nothing to write home about and you will need a Buddha's patience to be able to even get it.
Had dinner here a couple of nights whilst on business in Dec. 2016 and was not disappointed. Great food and great staff, highly recommended.
