I am in love with their Chinese beef burgers and their soup dumplings are as amazing as everyone says. I love the skewers with chicken and beef. Yummy A big thank you to the cook for ingenious food
I'm just here with my wife, just happening, going over. Wow. This is an amazing place. The menu is really unique. She ordered the noodles and ribs, I ordered the bbq lamb leg. Amazingly good! This leg costs 3x the price in any other restaurant. Everywhere is clean, and the owner is very proud of his creation.
Now and then you will find a place you know in your mind, that will be good, really good! That's it! I grew up in Queens and know Asian foods quite well, not amercanized Chinese food, I don't eat that. This place is great! I won't come to dinner as ready for a fantastic experience. This is natural when you enjoy FRESH food, great service, cozy places to eat. I meet the jackpot today and look forward to spending everything on the menu, as I always return here.
The food was good. You will find that this is one of the more authentic restaurants in the area where you can serve traditional noodle lovers such as Spicy Dan noodles or Beijing style chajang noodles. The beef noodle soup was one of the better I had in a while where the beef is tender and broth 5 spices is tasteful. The dishes here reminded me of my mother's kitchen (although you can't really compare) and this is a rather high compliment. Nothing here is extravagant, but they do everything very well. If you cannot go to Flushing for shanghai/szechuan/taiwanese, then I recommend this place.
Recently I’ve been searching my area of Long Island for any place that might have traditional Chinese soup dumplings (xia long bao). Being a chef and a foodie, I follow a lot of food accounts on Instagram and it seems like these soup dumplings are becoming very popular, especially in Queens and NYC, because I’m constantly seeing posts with pictures of soup dumplings from restaurants in those areas. While using Yelp recently to write a review, I decided to enter “soup dumplings near me” into the search bar and to my surprise, a restaurant not too far from me in Hicksville popped up called 365 Noodle Bar and Grill. Very excited, I called Lahna and told her to meet me there for dinner that night, Friday, 3/16/18. I entered the address into my navigation and it brought me to a shopping center where it said the restaurant was located. At first, all I noticed was the sign for H&Y Asian marketplace and drove around for a few minutes trying to figure out exactly where it was. I finally realized that the restaurant was to the left of the H&Y. You can tell by my photo of the entrance that the sign hardly displays the name 365 Noodle Bar. This made it difficult to recognize at night. Once we entered, we sat and were immediately overwhelmed by the menu. Although the menu was in English, we still didn’t know what was what. Luckily, there was an Asian-American family sitting next to us. I struck up a conversation with the young girl, who spoke both languages and asked what they were having, because everything on their table looked so good. We eventually ordered the steamed pork soup dumplings, beef noodle soup and shrimp lo mein. I have to be honest and admit that I’m not a big fan of Chinese food. When I do order it, the only thing I ever get is chicken and broccoli, boneless spare ribs and wonton soup. I don’t know the difference chow mein and lo mein and egg foo young sounds like a karate move to me. So this experience completely took me out of my comfort zone, especially since I let a stranger order our meal for us. However, I was quite surprised with how good everything was. My first experience with soup dumplings lived up to the hype I had built up in my head. I was excited to receive the little basket and open it to see 6 perfectly shaped dumplings. Knowing that there was soup in the dumpling, in addition to the pork, I bit into the first dumpling and was able to sip on the soup as well as get a bite of pork and the dumpling. It was 3 different experiences for my mouth all at once and it made me very happy. For our first time ever having soup dumplings, we really enjoyed them and I’ve been thinking about them ever since. The soup was pretty good too. Different than any type of wonton soup I’ve ever had. It was a very mild beef broth with very thin dumpling noodles. We enjoyed it. The shrimp lo mein was also very good. It had a lot of thick noodles and good flavor but could’ve used either more shrimp or larger shrimp. But for the first time having lo mein, I enjoyed it and now know there are other things on a Chinese menu that I can order. All in all, we really enjoyed the food at 365 Noodle Bar and Grill. I would definitely like to go back and try new things on the menu. Hopefully they’ll be another nice Asian family in there who can tell us what to order again. If not, we’ll definitely go with the soup dumplings again, and take our chances ordering something new.
