The Moonah Hotel - Hobart

Vi al consultor de viaje que considera una idea de que deberíamos darle ... las comidas de pub son muy buenas en Hopkins en Charles en Moonah, estaba a cinco minutos, lo que vale la pena.

Stopped in to see if they did a counter meal/pub meal ..what a pleasant surprise it was...has been done up a bit a few years back and is holding itself well...the meals were well priced and good quality...there is a specials board for seniors and looking at it I was a bit disappointed to be missing out by a couple of years...service was good and overall we had a pleasant hour or so there...background tele played 70/80 music which suited most of the diners...all in all a decent meal for a decent price in a decent pub.

We only booked for 2 but they fitted in our two extras guests without to much hassle. It's a pub type atmosphere so busy but the main drinking area was separated from the dining area so no problem there either except when I tried to order a drink - staff seemed to look past me so one drink took just over 15 minutes to get so I didn't bother ordering another. Not a huge menu to select from but had the usual - no garlic bread but garlic pizza instead which was good. I ordered Beef & Reef medium rare with veggies, great size meal but the steak was a little under done - just too much blood on the plate I feel. Another friend also ordered Beef & Reef medium with chips - I noticed she cut away a lot of steak & left to the side but polished off all her chips! The seafood was yummy but the sauce very very runny. Veggies no problems. My partner ordered sweet & soar chicken which he thought was good size & he couldn't fault it! Our other friend ordered the seafood platter which was a really good size - he didn't manage to finish it all but it wasn't through lack of trying! The chips were lush & he was particularly impressed with the battered fish. None of us had room for dessert & what made this meal particularly good was the fact that we had a voucher from the entertainment book which made our meal overall 1/2 price which was good value!

We had the roast of the day namely pork. It was good and the price was reasonable. We had red wine to accompany same (a bottle shared by 3 of us) and it was of good quality. Compared to other places of same category the price of meals were reasonable for a good meal.

We were all happy with meals. Nicely cooked and plenty of it. Underwhelmed with untrained staff and poor choice of wines.
