The best thing they had that I tried was the burger (which just tasted like a standard burger to be honest). The open face shrimp sandwich was a mayonnaise soup and the beet salad had nothing special. It was a standard green salad with a couple beets in it. The best thing (other than the service) was their homemade ketchup. I would not go here. Only redeeming factor was the pricewasn?t too bad. $1-2 more though and it?s overpriced.
A friend and I went to Nordstrom Rack as he wanted to return a mail order item and we intended to go to another restaurant across the street) for noodles. Unfortunately, it?s no longer in Ward Centre so we walked around looking for a place and ended up at Tango Café. No reservations but Jessica cleaned a table for us and we sat down to a very nice lunch. I had forgotten how small Tango is as all of the tables were occupied. I ordered a Botanist gin tonic but Jessica saidthey just got a bottle of Monkey 47 so I had that instead. Flowery and fruity with a hint of spice, it was a nice change of pace, albeit at a price $16.50). We ordered the Breaded Pork Cutlet $17) and the Grilled Pesto Glazed Salmonsalad $15.50). The pork cutlet was more like a schnitzel than what my friend expected. He thought it would be like Tonkatsu and reported that it was very tender and the gravy was delicious. It was served with fries and vegetables. Thefries came with what we thought was a catsup/mustard mixture; it turned out to be a piquant barbeque-like sauce. My salmon salad was delicious ? the generous fillet of salmon was perfectly prepared, just past medium rare and the mixed babygreens, pieces of asparagus and the halves of yellow and red cherry tomatoes, topped with a delicate dressing was wonderful. I finished my meal with a cup of coffee; I don?t know what bean they used but that?s my kind of coffee; dark andrich. Tango Contemporary Café is a great place for delicious food, perfectly prepared. Highly recommended!
Wait time was short, all the food was great, and service was prompt and pleasant. Definitely recommend and will be back soon!
Had brunch here and enjoyed it. I had the pastry basket I will see in the past the pastries were or appeared to be very soft and today maybe they were just baked a little too long. The atmosphere here is always upbeat and very pleasant. My guest had eggs benedict and enjoyed it very much. Have been going here for many years and plan to continue to do so.
Great food and service. The Tango Burger was excellent. Even ran into the former owner Tammy who is always so nice and hospitable. This place is highly recommended by yours truly.
