Cajun Steamer Bar & Grill - Hoover

We decided to try this Cajun spot a couple of weeks ago and I am so glad we did! It’s a nice little spot close to the Galleria Mall and they put Cajun right there in that little spot. I had the Shrimp Grits which was a nice choice. Now, these Shrimp Grits are different than any I have ever had. You get anything from grits on top of shrimp to an actual shrimp and grits dish at other restaurants then you get these shrimp and grits! The Shrimp Grits at Cajun Steamer Bar Grill are differently amazing. They are the most moist I have ever had and it’s a dish where the shrimp and grits go nicely together. Moist you ask? Yes, this dish has a lot of liquid which I enjoy. I assume it is coming from cooking the shrimp like shrimp scampi and then bringing it all together. I just stirred mine all up and had some of the best Shrimp Grits I have ever had. Glad we went and we will surely be back!!!!!!

5/5 stars! Will eat again! Seriously, the closest thing to authentic Cajun outside of Louisiana. And great service. Everything tastes great and the employees are very friendly. I come for the delicious food, but I stay for Katie! (Or have I got the order confused again? PLEASE OPEN A TUSCALOOSA LOCATION!!!

The Blackened Redfish Rockefeller is great! I highly recommend it.

Ask for price and size of the oysters before ordering. they have carburized oysters (menu listed as a market price) for a entree. half dozens, dimens-sized oysters were $16. great taste but hungry, as I only ordered one by the side to go with the oysters. will not make this mistake again.

I often evaporate cajun when the weather is good for outside seats. I went on 31st august at 4 in aug to have a few drinks and a snack. no one sat on tables, but the bar had about 6 people. I went to the end of the bar to order a beer. the bartender sat at the bar. I was polite when she talked to someone. then she came up to get someone else and then looked at me, sat down and continued her conversation. I went to cajun roux. where I'll go from now on. oh, and the sweat is on her because I am a good tipper. lol
