For minimal cost they could have made them properly. Server disappeared for most of the time we were there, brought sushi and ran off with no soy sauce. Spider roll was disgusting. Tasted like a dirty fryer. Music was loud, repetitive, and low class. Had the ambiance of an elevator. Would never waste my time there again. Sent the food back, and walked out laughing at the attempt to provide an upscale dining experience with unpolished wait staff and terrible food.
This is a great restaurant for fun drinks and delicious food. The atmosphere is kinda clubby and the drinks are fantastic. We went really early so it was not crowded and I recommend going later in the evening.
Tarakaan is a great revamped restaurant in Midtown, Houston. Offering an Asian-fusion menu that changes often you will try things you never thought you would. Signature cocktails are different and tasty. It's worth getting the server's opinion on drinks and food to try. Go outside your comfort zone, it won't disappoint! Do Valet, self parking around there in nonexistent. Right off the MetroRail. Casual/dressy attire
The lobster wonton appetizer was amazing. Portion size is 2 small taco shaped wontons good for one. The short rib was absolutely outstanding!! They also have a nice wine selection.
We didn't know the restaurant was just recently reopened. Service is very good and the restaurant is beautiful. Most of the menu items are served in small forms and are running on average $15/each plate. There are currently only three selections for larger plates. The experience is good for a night on the town and when you aren't very hungry. It is a good place to meet-up with friends.
