The restraunt was nice and felt like you had traveled back to when times were much simpler and people were much nicer. I had been looking foward to eating here as I drive by the restraunt every day. I had tried to come on a Sunday but they were closed and again the next day but they were unfortunately closed Monday, too. I was excited about trying the spaghetti as I am a pasta lover. Sadly, when I finally tried it, I was extremely unhappy. I had it with the meat sauce and it tasted like eating sand. The taste was disgusting and reminds you of a canned hotdog sauce you would find at a supermarket. I ate 2 bites and was disgusted and couldn 't eat no more. It was soaked in water and came to the table setting in a puddle of it. The same with my fiance. The French bread was the only part that we liked, except for the coconut cream pie. The pie was delicious and I could see myself having it again but its nothing special. You could buy a better one at Walmart. I didn 't try anything else, for I had spent over $40 for 2 people already and over half of it was spent on the spaghetti that was horrible. The service was great and couldnt complain at all except for the woman working at the cashier. She was uncomfortable to be around, rude and was short with customers. Other than that, all I could complain about was one customer who thought it was a must that everyone listen to the conversation that he was having on the phone. It was extremely loud, long and made quite a few customers, including me, very unhappy with him. If you are coming for the famous spaghetti, dont waste your time! I dont know how they can have such a title. Parking: Theres maybe 4 spots thatvare available on the street and they are usually taken up by people not visiting the restraunt.
Today I ordered the ribeye, with pickled beets, cottage cheese, and a side of spaghetti ? I'll be honest, while the steak was pretty good, it was definitely corn fed, and quite greasy, as it was about 1/3 fat.. The spaghetti was also pretty good, Although the beef in the sauce was ground so fine, it gives the sauce a mushy texture. The door greater was a lil cold, no smile or much of a greeting, however my waitress was very nice, and attentive.
Always a great meal. Fabulous food and great service.
The atmosphere is really cool with pictures of the restaurant’s history. The food is just ok. The rolls are not freshly baked. The choice of side items is poor.
