Melt Pizzeria - HYDE PARK

My friend who had dined at this restaurant before recommended it to me. We decided to go for Sunday dinner without a reservation, but luckily it wasn't too crowded because we went early. The tables are placed close together, so there isn't much room for your arms. A woman, who I believe is the owner, took our order. She was very understanding when I wanted to customize my pizza instead of choosing one from the menu. I ended up ordering a mushroom, onion, and chili cheese pizza, but she accidentally added olives on it.

I recently visited Melt Hyde Park and was shocked by the rude behavior I experienced when discussing separate bills, which the website says they do not offer. Justin could use some training on how to speak to customers politely and not react defensively when someone mentions needing to cancel due to a lack of cash. While Melt is typically a great restaurant, good customer service seems to be lacking in this instance. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but I was left feeling taken aback by this interaction.

Our family of five had a wonderful meal that met all our expectations, with fast and efficient service. However, we were disappointed by the initial attitude of the staff when we arrived 15 minutes late and were unable to reach them on the phone. This made us feel a bit uncomfortable, and we had to ask for water only after our drinks and meals had already arrived. As someone who has worked in customer service for airlines like Qantas and Emirates, we were disappointed by the lack of professionalism displayed by the staff. While we would like to dine here again, the attitude of the employees will make us think twice before making a reservation.

Terrible service. Eat here quite regularly. The food is always nice. But the service this evening was seriously missing. The staff is friendly and polite, but it lacks attention. Disappoint.

Went with friends for dinner, were barely seated when we were bluntly reminded that the there was a 90 minute turnaround on our 730 booking. We rushed through the drinks and food menu and ordered. Food came out and it was delicious, well done to...chefs on! After we finished our food and plates were cleared we had been there for a bit then were offered a dessert menu which we eagerly took , making sure to decide quickly to fit in the time frame, at least 15 minutes later some one came back to take our order. After our dessert came out we were a couple of minutes in, all still eating when someone came over put the bill down and said sorry but this needs to be fixed up we need the table, even though there was at least 3 other empty tables and at this point no one was actually there waiting for the table. Staff then eyed us off until we stuffed our desserts in our mouth to leave and one commented ‘oh they’ve finished talking have they’ as we left. The food was great, but based on service I wouldn’t go back and I would pass that onto others as well.
