Stopped here overnight, unplanned as a couple in our group.were experiencing car trouble. At short notice we were able to book accommodation. The pub itself is full of rural country charm, memorabilia and nik nacs, and the staff were enthusiastic and chatty. The meals were tops, Steak was cooked to perfection, and good beer ran from the taps. 5 stars for a typical country pub experience! Accommodation is hostel like. Shared bathrooms, is very rustic and beggining to get a bit run down. No heaters in the rooms but electric blankets in the beds to keep us plenty warm. Overall it is comortable and for the price... you cant argue.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch of chicken schnitzel with mushrooms and grilled barramundi with black rice, salad
Another classic Aussie country hotel that has the potential to be great. It is tired inside but the service and food was all great. The house Shiraz was local to the area and superb. The schnitzels (beef) were some of the best we have eaten. A great find in Jamestown.
Hi we were just passing through and it was lunch time so we stopped at this hotel The first thing that the barman said to us Welcome to Jamestown that was the friendliest welcome we had he also went on to say that they have a blackout ant the beer might not be cold enough from the tap but he had plenty in the fridge that was cold and he was right He also said the kitchen was open and they make the best Schnitzels in the country.Well that was a Hugh statement,I had a porterhouse and my partner had the schnitzel My steak was cooked to perfection. My partner agreed with the barman as the best schnitzel she has ever eaten I tried it also and then i wished i had ordered that also.Well done chef. And thank you for your hospitably,Will will drive the 200klm just for a good feed in the near future.
