This is a great place to eat. They do have really great food and really great drinks. But, they have issues. Every time I've been here, it's been with between 2 and 4 people and I have never waited less than 45 minutes. The last time I was there with a party of 4 and we waited for an hour and a half. We later learned that was because of parties of 6 or more could make reservations. Only parties of 6 or more can make reservations, which basically tells me that smaller parties can kick bricks because we can't make a reservation and won't bring them as much money. On these occasions, the staff have not been mean or rude, but do give off this air of not caring about my small party as much; this way of treating us like we're just in the way of the bigger money. It's all just very disappointing. And of course, once inside their indoor space, it's so loud in there that it's hard for me to not become overwhelmed with sound immediately upon sitting down. I know the reason is because this place is popular, which makes me happy for the staff and owners, but if you're looking for a place where you can actually talk to your brunch buddies, this might not be it. For what the food and drinks are, even though they are good, they are not worth waiting 45+ minutes for. I'll go again if one of my friends really wants to go, but there is better brunch to be had in town that doesn't come with all the issues that Flattop needs to address.
Can't say enough good things about this place the atmosphere and food are just amazing. We went for brunch and everything was too notch. Drinks were on point and I can't say enough about the food it is 5 star all the way. If your looking for a good brunch don't miss this spot. Usually a wait but remember good food takes time.
I love Flattop Salamander! Casey was our server and was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the grapefruit juice was so juicy! We got baleadas and it was very authentic.
There’s a shortage of breakfast spots in town that have five star food, service, and atmosphere so let me save you time with your search. F&S is the best breakfast restaurant in this part of town and has become my favorite in the city. I normally get the amazing and very filling Honduran Baleadas (essentially breakfast tacos in flour tortillas) but today I tried the chicken and waffles (half and half) and they were incredible! Pay attention to their specials (always good) and of course they have a full bar with all kinds of brunch cocktails!
