This restaurant is situated in a stunning location overlooking the water. The cuisine was outstanding, with large portions and incredible flavors. The waitstaff were all warm and attentive.

The restaurant is situated in a stunning waterfront location, however, the service was sluggish and the food was too expensive. I have no plans to come back. The only redeeming quality was the friendly waiter.

If you are in the Kenmare area, or even in Killarney, make sure to visit the Boathouse Bistro. This restaurant is truly exceptional. The chef is incredibly talented! For starters, we enjoyed the porcini arancini, potted crab, and shrimp pil pil. Each dish was delicious, but the potted crab was a standout. The seafood chowder was the best I have ever had, and I am from New England. It was so rich with fresh fish and seafood that it was more like a stew. For our main courses, we tried the halibut, lamb, spicy roasted cauliflower, and scallops. Everyone at the table was thrilled with their choices. Unfortunately, we were too full to try any of the tempting desserts. I wouldn't change a thing about our meal to make room for dessert - everything was perfect!
