Will concur wih last reviewer, Normally this is an excellent chippy, and have been using it for the past year. however not sure if its changed management but went today the staff were completely different as were the tills and the fish and chips came in a carrier bag. However on getting home the fish was terrible thin as anything, overcooked and no where near as large as normal, in fact there was no difference in size between mine a normal portion and my partners who had a small fish. Looks like the fish is a much cheaper and smaller cut and not fried as well either. I will be going elsewhere, very dissapointed
Regularly on a Friday teatime we would call at this shop probably went last about 3 weeks ago as the fish were beautiful and white really tasty and big fish for the price the chips were lovely and always fresh all in all a lovely fish and chip shop. We called yesterday 2nd November and the fish order was wrong when I got home all different sizes (see pictures) I asked for 3 regular fish and large chips and curry sauce they do small regular and large fish I wouldn’t feed it to my dog it was disgusting how can you mess up fish and chips in such a short space of time this is what leads me to believe it’s changed ownership the lad cooking the fish didn’t seem to have a clue safe to say I’ll be finding somewhere else to spend my money won’t be going back here avoid it’s terrible.
This is one fish and chip shop people should go to. Excellent haddock, cooked perfectly, with a good golden batter, fish tasting sweet, moist, and not strongly smelling of fish which means it’s going off. Also a fair size for the price, cooked fresh.
This is the best fish and chips we've ever had. As someone who is gluten-free, I appreciate that the staff was knowledgeable about their ingredients and preparation methods. The batter and condiments were all gluten-free, and they were served in a high-quality box at no extra cost. The restaurant is popular in a premium Derbyshire tourist area, regularly serving gluten-free fish and chips to long queues. The staff were friendly and very informative. The fish was tender and not greasy, and the chips were thick and delicious. This is now our go-to spot for fish and chips.
