We opted to sit outside in order to fully experience the hustle and bustle of Gay Street in Knoxville. The street was lively with people passing by. I ordered the Crispy Veggie dish, but made the mistake of having Wasabi on the plate, which was too spicy for my liking. I was taken aback by the heat and jumped in my seat. My husband suggested mixing it with soy sauce to tone it down next time. He enjoyed his fish tacos, spicy shrimp soup, and appetizer. Don't forget to check out the pictures of our meal! Also, be sure to order bottled water as the tap water did not taste good.
The service was okay. The Kaki panko was tasty, especially with the perfect dipping sauce. The crab and Asiago dip with naan was also delicious. However, the sushi was not the best. We ordered basic rolls like the Caterpillar and eel maki. The eel sauce was too salty and overpowering. The rice was a mix of normal soft rice with some hard grains, which was disappointing. The eel in the maki had a strong fishy taste and did not seem fresh.
One of the most beautiful places to have Japanese food. The ambience is really cool. The place has a wide selection of cocktails. The reels are so damn good. Mouthwater. Also has a lot of Veggie options like Veggie Sushi What? they have half price menu on Thursday. The Hanyun server was really cool, fast and punctual. It was a wonderful experience
5 and found a very pleasant facility. We've always loved Sushi since our daughter went to Japan in an 8th grade exchange program. The sushi here is extremely fresh, so the sashimi that must be absolutely fresh. The sesame beef and the salmon peel were also delicious. Not a huge place, but outdoor seats and a cozy ambience. Oh, and by the way, warm love is worth waiting.
Outstanding service! Steph was our server. We sat outside to feel immersed in Knoxville’s action. Gay street is packed with people. I enjoyed my Crispy Veggie- I did make the mistake and having Wasabi on the plate. It was too hot for me. I jumped in my seat. My husband says it should be mixed with soy to tone it down. Do that if you want a kick. My husband had fish tacos and a Shrimp spicy soup and an appetizer. Check out my pics! Oh yes get the bottled water because their water did not taste good!
