Well, this restaurant specializes in Burmese cuisine as per the namesake. I tried the national dish of Myanmar, Mohinga, which was sort of a fish soup with cucumber, peanuts, half slice of boiled egg, lentil cracker and rice noodles was my favorite for sure. The flavors were subtle but has a strong fishy smell. The names of the dishes are too hard to pronounce though, but I liked most of the dishes, not all the dishes tho. Anyway, if you have a curiosity to try out Burmese cuisine, then you're most welcome.
It was my sister's birthday...and the decoration they came up with was wonderful...added an extra vigour with the already established Burmese beauty of the environment..The resturant has a perfect ambience for romantic dinner..<br/ Food section- we ordered<br/ Lemonade<br/ Fish noodles fitter<br/ MIX FRied rice<br/ Tofu curry<br/ chicken curry<br/ Baklava<br/ ..lemonade was good..starter was a new item ..i loved my debut introduction with the starter..<br/ Nain course was just awesome...but its not a place for those people who believe in rosiye kosiye khawa...light weight food but awesome...<br/ Wish to have the main course again...its really finger licking good...and moreover the bdy girl..my sister was overwhelmed to have the food..<br/ Thank you Burmese Bahar for adding loads of love and elegance to my Sister's specialDay
A very unique themed restaurant at Barasat, as the name suggests they only serve Burmese cuisine, and it was my first time for Burmese foods, I ordered Khaw Mun How- it's basically butter/ghee rice served with some green salad, chicken stew pieces and chicken stalk and a special Burmese sauce. It's a very mild, non spicy dish and I guess the nutrition value is high too, as no such gravy and spices are involved. So, it's different and I liked it very much. As a dessert I tried Yei Baw- a sweet coconut based cold dessert, I didn't like it that much, but for the Khaw Mun How I gave a five star rating. Also, the owner insisted me to try the Danbauk which is the Burmese Biryani. So, as a Biryani lover I tried their Danbauk too, it was okay-ish, not that great compared to the Biryanis we use to have in Kolkata, but it was different, Burmese touch. The soup Mohinga is a good one to try, so if you are in Barasat and want to try something different this outlet is a must visit.
