This was a nice place for a drink but nothing special. Order at the bar, no servers. They had knob creek rye, so that was good.
We did not stay at Shades of Green. We came to see what the ambiance was like. Bought tickets from ITT and they were fabulous and had lunch at the bar inside Evergreens. We had the absolute best time! The two working behind the bar were amazing! I had a kids meal and the grilled cheese was cooked perfectly! Side of fruit! For the j below that said why fruit? Because children are now supposed to have healthier options! Personally, I thought the fruit was amazing because it wasn’t just one kind and it wasn’t canned fruit. It was freshly cut! Hubby said the cheesesteak was outstanding! He’s picky! Can’t express how great this place is! Wish I had checked the names of the servers but one girl we spent most of our time talking to was originally from Puerto Rico and we had such a great time talking to her! Seriously ignore any negativity you see here and experience it for yourself!
3.5 stars! I had the opportunity to stay here for six nights with my parents. The hotel is beautiful and has a tropical oasis vibe complete with a waterfall. Since we arrived the last week of November/ first week in December the hotel was decorated for Christmas with opportunities to visit with Santa. There is a ticket center on site as well as an exchange to purchase toiletries, otc meds, souvenirs, snacks and drinks. Shades is considered a deluxe resort so you get early morning entry as well as extended hours for the Disney parks. The rooms themselves could do with an upgrade. The carpets seemed old and musty. The fridge smelled terrible like pizza had been left in there for weeks. I saw several small ant like insects on top of the dresser near the tv. The beds were super firm and the pillows were lumpy and flat. I did like the double sinks in the bathroom and we had an excellent view of the golf course from our room on the 5th floor of the palm wing. I also appreciated the daily housekeeping since not all resorts are doing that. If you stay here make sure your door locks correctly. My parents realized their door wasn 't locking and security came to fix it the same day. All of the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. I 've never felt so safe at a resort as 100% ID check is required when entering the resort and when using the buses. I do wish there was a bus directly to Epcot and magic kingdom. It felt inconvenient having to transfer at the TTC when other hotels have direct buses to each of the resorts. We had the dining plan for breakfast in the Garden gallery. The buffet had really good selection and was tasty for the price of $18.95 for adults. There is an omelet station as well as a pancake station where you can get Mickey shaped pancakes. The buffet has a little bit for everyone: breads, pastries, corned beef hash, bacon, sausage, biscuits with sausage gravy, breakfast pizza, scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit, meats and cheeses, and oatmeal as well as daily options that change out I enjoyed the ham and cheese croissants, spicy chorizo hash and cheesy potatoes. There is also a kids section with tater tots, churros and French toast. Non alcoholic drinks were also included. Finally, we loved getting Starbucks coffee at Java Cafe every morning and gelato in the afternoons butterfinger and Oreo mint were my favorite flavors! Overall I would prefer to stay at a different property next time, however, there were a lot of perks and I imagine this resort would be perfect for families or those looking to save money while staying deluxe .
Excellent safe place for active duty, retired service members. The pool is so much and the life guards are superb.
