Ray's Rump Shack - Lake City

Went to a lunch this place catered food was ordered for 100 people they ran out of food at less than 70 served chicken tasted like it was marinated in lighter fluid chopped bbq was bland staff served food bare handed and when they were plating dessert every time some got on their hands they would lick it off and to top it all off the food was delivered in the uncovered bed of a pickup truck

Please do not pay attention to Ray's advertising. This is not the worst bbq in Arkansas. This is among the top 5 bbq places I've been to in Arkansas. Every meat we tried was smoked to perfection and moist. We got there right before they were closing up and they let us in and treated us like the first customers of the day. The owner learned some of his craft in Texas and it shows. Even the smoked bologna was great and I'm not a bologna fan. The sides of mac and cheese along with baked beans were also top notch. This is a stop you must make if your looking for great bbq, even if it's out of your way a little.

First time at this little place with a lot of potential. We had a group of 7 and all tried some different things. From brisket to pulled pork to sausage to nachos and all the sides to go with it, we had a good sampling of their current offerings. First, service was very friendly. Second, the brisket was the best I have ever had. The nachos were awesome. The pulled pork was a little dry but good flavor. The potato salad was interesting. It was more like a loaded baked potato salad. Mac and cheese was also a little dry but again good flavor. Sausage was very good. Barbecue sauce was nice and tangy. Overall, this place was good food for a good value. We will be back. You all should check it out.

Great BBQ and atmosphere! Definitely worth a visit when in or near Lake City!

This restaurant offers great Texas style BBQ. If you love Brisket, Ribs, Bologna, and fresh veggies you need to try Rays Rump Shack. Great owners who love Northeast Arkansas especially Riverside Public School communities. This business needs more folks to make the short drive to Lake City and give them a shot at your business. Seth and his team will do everything to insure your visit is more than satisfactory.
