The woman at the host table did not understand how I could have made a reservation with Open Table because she said they 'quit paying for it '. However, she was more than accommodating, and the service we had was some of the best I 've had in a very long time. Our server was gracious, funny, never forgot one thing, and was entertaining even though the place was packed. Highly, highly recommend!
I was here at the request of a family member. I was pleasantly surprised at what I found to be a distinct upgrade since my last visits a year or more ago. I will return
The food was very good, with unique rolls and very good fish. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting rolls, knowing her menu and seeking to make the experience as good as possible.
Food was really great, prices as expected, however staff is untrained...in an empty restaurant at 5:15 we were offered the four-top closest to the busy door and the bar...seemed put out when we requested a different table, then we had to wait for the House Valentine 's special drink Romeo and Juliet because the bar staff was trying to figure out how to make it, (we saw them tasting it as they tried... the food was good though.
The Cho in Lakeway has great sushi and hot Japanese cuisine. Some creative rolls and sashimi dishes, great basics . A surprisingly good sake selection including some higher end stuff for those who like that. Fish is very fresh. Not cheap, but hey, it 's sushi. Service friendly and attentive (wait staff tend to be gringos but have good familiarity with menu including the Japanese names). And a whole lot less cost than Uchiko. Another nice aspect is their consistency. You know what you are going to get.
