Under new ownership. The family that started Cesarina’s sold it recently, and as is to be expected, there have been some changes. The biggest change that I’ve noticed is their bread. Under the old owners, the bread was a standout. Perfect balance of softness and thickness to stand up to hot, heaping sandwiches. The bread now, while not terrible, just isn’t as good. Tastes different, and just doesn’t hold up well for hot, saucy type sandwiches. The steak used in their steak and cheese sandwiches also isn’t the same. It’s of lesser quality dry and tastes closer to hamburger meat. Very disappointing.Luckily, it seems their club sandwich has remained much the same. Large amounts of ham, turkey and roast beef. They recently catered lunch at my company, and the consensus was that the lasagna lacked flavor.I realize that whenever there is a change of ownership in the restaurant/food business there’s going to be a transition period where things get sorted out and sometimes changed according to the new owner’s tastes/preferences, and to that end, I’m willing to try them again. Hopefully, they’ll make the right changes.
Such a shame. Old original good owners sold it a couple years ago. Absolutely not the same business. This place wouldn't know a deli sandwich if God himself dropped one down from the heavens as a sample for them. I guess the owners sold to new folks since the last time I had been there and wow oh wow. I was the only one in there with 4 employees and a manager and it took 25 minutes to get a sandwich and a slice of pizza. The bread was more stale and harder than a PubSub. Used to be such soft bread. Price hikes are evident and the bakery stuff isn't all fresh baked, half of it is bulk purchased. What a shame I wish I would've known they sold to new owners before I walked in there. Such a shame.
Hands down, the best Italian deli in Pinellas County! Excellent food. The hot subs are delicious. The muffuletta is amazing. The eggplant parm sub was great! Lots of good grocery selections. Fantastic desserts. A must visit.
Absolute hidden gem! I got the Cesarina's special sub and it was amazing. Proscuitto and Parmesan on a fresh made roll as long as your forearm.
