Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónThe food was served cold, and my sister had to send hers back to be reheated in the microwave. The sodas were all flat. I'm giving it 2 stars, because while the gorditas were decent, my beans and rice were also cold. It feels like no one there cares about how the food is presented. I had high hopes for this restaurant, especially since it was great in the past. What happened?
I ordered a large menudo to go, but I was informed that carside service wasn’t available due to staffing issues, so I had to go inside instead. Since I had my 3-year-old with me, the option for carside service was one of the reasons I chose Los Compas, but I accepted the situation and went in. The lime I received with the menudo was dry, with all pulp and no juice. The menudo itself was very dirty and had a film on top. The meat wasn’t trimmed well, making it difficult to chew most of it. There was barely any chile flavor, and I ended up throwing away almost all of it. I do not recommend their menudo; it's unhygienic.
Everything needed some salt. The rice was just plain and very dry, while the beans tasted like they were cooked with a lot of lard. This was my first visit, and I was really disappointed. I didn’t even finish my meal. The agua frescas were too watered down and tasted like tap water. Although the staff was friendly, the food was a significant letdown. The chips and queso were alright, but there was too much chili, making it very spicy, and the chips were hard. We also ordered carne asada tacos, and the tortillas tasted like they hadn’t been fried, more like straight out of the package. They were topped with way too much lettuce and tomatoes, which didn’t go well with the tacos. I won’t be returning. It also took a long time to get our check; we eventually had to get up and ask for it after waiting about 15 minutes.
If you want good quality authentic Mexican food, this is NOT the place to go. I was very disappointed in our meal here the other day. The wait staff was nice, although we only saw our waitress like twice. Other waitresses kept coming by to check on us andrefill our drinks. You have to order and pay for chips and salsa, so we ordered some. For our meal we got a combination plateand tostadas compuestas. The bean tostada and the red tostada were pretty good, but I didn't really care for the green one. Thecombination plate was very disappointing. The red sauce on the enchilada was good, but the green sauce and the relleno washorrible!! The chile relleno was way too eggy and soggy, and the green sauce just tastes like cream of mushroom soup. Theguacamole sauce on the flauta wasn't very good either. I don't think we will be coming back here. Then after we were done eatingwe had to just get up and stand at the register to get our check after we had asked for it and they never brought it. As you cansee in the picture, they weren't that busy, so no idea where our waitress was.
Loved the service by Eddie. He had a huge grad party that he was taking care of along with our table of 10, and he was Flawless. The only thing I could fault is my fajitas. I'm not sure they could qualify. Small strips of beef and onion, butthat's about it. I think it might better be qualified as a Carne asada plate. Other than that, everyone else enjoyed theirselections. I'd definitely go back, but try a combo plate next time.
