Contribuir a la retroalimentaciónWe enjoyed a 5 course Sunday lunch and were fortunate to find the only free table in the small dining room. We were made very welcome by the owners and the service was cheerful and obliging. The food was plentiful and hearty. The room appeared to be full of locals which demonstrates what a value place this is. It looks unprepossessing from the outside but you would be hard-pressed to find better value for money anywhere in the area. Well worth a visit.
We went to this restaurant today, market day in the town, and my husband chose this restaurant for lunch, his birthday. We were greeted with a friendly smile but it went down hill after that! We are British but speak fluent French as we live in France 6 months each year but obviously there was something about us that the woman serving, the owner I think, didn't like!!!! We had an aperitif and confirmed we wanted the 5 course meal with wine included, a good price at 14,40 euro. We waited 30 minutes at least for the first course, soup, whilst others that had arrived after us got theirs before. This went on throughout all the courses. She would look at our finished plates and then just walk away and see to someone else!!! We experienced this in a restaurant last week but we were not the targets a Dutch couple were!!! I am not going to comment on the food as this restaurant does not deserve any further use of my time. Food is not everything. Service is the most important thing and this restaurant failed big time
Run by a husband and wife team, this open for lunch only, restaurant is the best value for money in the area. For €14 you get a fixed 5 course meal with wine and coffee included. You cannot beat that. There is no choice, you are served whatever is on offer that day. The menu is posted outside on a chalkboard. You get a soup, as much as you want, a starter, a main, cheese and dessert. Good home style cooking. We had cake aux Lardons, veal liver with onions, brie and Cantal and Crème brûlée. Delicious.
We are so fortunate to have a great selection of Good to Great local restaurants, and of course we those we go back to time and time again. But our local favorite was closed on this my wife's birthday, so we just wen tout in the car with the intent on finding somewhere to have a lunch. The Taverne was open and so we went in, Welcomed as friends, the daily menu was explained and then served, it was lovely and we both said we should go more often.
Good simple food well prepared, presented with a smile. Popular and it does get full quickly, people who are late are often turned away as there is no room/
