Visited here on a Saturday night in December after being advised by a local friend. It was around 8pm (maybe a little early for Italians) and we were the only customers. Despite being the only customers, and there being a plethora of waiting staff milling around and chatting, service was quite slow although friendly enough. They have a choice of craft and imported beers, if you 're interested in that. Peanuts are served while you 're waiting, with shells to be thrown on the floor. I 've seen this before elsewhere in Italy, but I felt it didn 't suit this place as it is a restaurant and not a pub. We both ordered the house special 'galletto ' (if my memory is correct). It was tasty but nothing special and rather small for the price. The place filled up by 9.30 but it was all families with young children and teenagers. There wasn 't much atmosphere, and the medieval decor...whilst being unique, seems a little odd. Overall, the food was fine but maybe pricey for what it was. It didn 't seem like a place for a group of friends to have a night out. It was very much a family place, so wasn 't what we were looking for. There are better places in Lecce in my opinion.
This place is a must stop if you are visiting Lecce. The workers and service is devine, they were so king about not knowing much english and gave us mini slices of pizza for free which was a great way to start the meal. Everything I have seen eaten here by friends has looked amazing and well prepared. It is also decently priced. I had the pork taco which was ground sausage, spices, onion and lettuce and was one of the best meals i have had so far in Lecce. They also have an interesting beer selection which I loved. Would highly recommend eating here!
One of the great selling points of Kingallo is the nice beers they brew (e.g. Belgian and American ale style). Outside of their building, it is nice to have drinks along a lively street in Lecce. The inside of the restaurant is not a very stylish place (a kind of 'medieval ' fastfood restaurant), and service is not exactly ideal (it took us some time to catch the attention of the waitresses).
What a great Pub in the old city of Lecce, wonderfully laid out with a great selection of beers. Snacks available and are very good along with a huge amount of peanuts. Staff are very friendly and at tentative worth a visit,
